Shouting loudly at wall doesn't normally result in much. But God had an unstoppable plan to give his people victory, despite the seemingly strange commands. God did the work, and so he alone gets the victory. This foreshadows the cross, where God does the work in triumphing over our enemies, and so gets the glory.

We are to respond to his actions by believing, receiving the mark of the covenant (baptism) and partaking in the covenant meal (the Lord's Supper).
